Filthy Lucre

1986

Or The Tragedy of Ernest Ledwhistle and Richard Soleway

Many schoolgirls write romances, though few grow up to be successful novelists. When Beryl Bainbridge discovered the tattered manuscript of Filthy Lucre , with its accompanying illustrations, written when she was just thirteen, she decided to publish it exactly as originally composed, with benefit only of some improvements in spelling

First published by Duckworth in 1986
